Ziff Davis is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Commerce Project Manager to coordinate and drive key revenue-driving projects across the Tech and Commerce business unit. In this role, you will manage commerce-focused projects across several ZDTC properties, including  Mashable, PC Mag, IGN, What to Expect, Everyday Health and more, as well as helping to develop, coordinate and enhance processes across the commerce team as a whole. The Commerce Project Manager  will work closely with the Tech and Commerce business unit leadership, Business Intelligence, Editorial, Email and Product teams. The role will be based in either New York or Montreal and report to the VP and Head of Platform Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of assigned projects to ensure deliverables align with original specifications, and projects are on time and within budget
  • Define and manage multiple Sprint Schedules and goals, reaching across multiple business units within the ZiffDavis/J2 Global organization
  • Clarify and communicate project objectives and success criteria
  • Develop and track integrated project plans, generating detailed scopes of work, requirements, and schedules
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement within the Commerce organization
  • Evaluate competitors for emerging development and technical trends related to Commerce
  • Develop detailed project schedules, outlining tasks and activity dependencies
  • Develop detailed reporting against project successes and distribute to the executive team
  • Assess risk and provide solutions and mitigation plans in collaboration with the technical and product teams of each business unit
  • Facilitate the necessary reviews and approvals on all components
  • Advocate the priority of essential Commerce development across ZiffDavis/J2 Global
  • Establish and maintain project communication with each business unit
  • Coordinate with third party technologies and partners
  • Facilitate cross functional time tracking against Commerce project goals

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience; familiarity with online content publishing and mobile development a plus
  • Experience managing multiple full-project life-cycles from discovery to final delivery
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies is essential
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to efficiently coordinate and work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a highly deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Familiarity with web-based technologies and the systems used to support major sites, including ad targeting tools, customer relationship management systems, and user analytics tools
  • Candidates with a Computer Science degree, Engineering degree, or relevant work experience desired
  • Ability and desire to meet deadlines and deliver results with minimal supervision by creatively using existing resources in an innovative and/or meaningful way
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, and interest in digital commerce and a willingness to learn the business.
  • Excellent Computer Skills including Jira, Confluence, the MS project suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, Project and PowerPoint) required
