Ziff Davis is looking for a dynamic Business Intelligence Operations Analyst to work out of our New York office, reporting to the Manager of BI & Analytics.   

You’ll be working at the cutting edge of digital media for a company with international reach -- you’ll have opportunities to interact with brilliant colleagues in NY, Austin, LA, SF, London, and Sydney, as well as several strong brands that are part of the Ziff Davis family, such as IGN, PCMag, Offers.com, AskMen and Geek.com.

The Business Intelligence Operations Analyst is responsible for helping support data analysis and insights to allow for improved decision-making for better business outcomes in both display advertising and commerce, as well as working to streamline KPI and Dashboard reporting for the business unit as a whole. In this function, you’ll work with Commerce, Editorial, Email, Merchandising and Display advertising stakeholders to lift, optimize and ensure the highest level of return for all commerce-driven revenue streams.

We're looking for someone who is genuinely interested about web traffic, monetization and commerce analytics, and enjoys rolling up their sleeves and mining through multiple data sources, metrics and reporting platforms to derive the findings and communicate the strategy. The ideal candidate can demonstrate an ability to cleanse, aggregate and produce dashboards from desperate data sources that will enable the analysts to make informed data driven decisions to drive the quality of content production, display advertising, merchandising and site UX/UI improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure best data hygiene practices throughout all aspects including collection, aggregation and visualization.
  • Maintain integrity of our multiple data sources (SalesForce/SugarCRM, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Affiliate Portals & Third Party tools) to streamline and improve data collection
  • Develop, streamline and gather requirements for Business Unit level reporting and dashboards
  • Produce, scope and maintain dashboards within Tableau (Desktop & Server) to serve various stakeholders of the organization.
  • Utilize core commerce platforms, database querying, data manipulation and statistical analysis to provide business support to all property owners to ultimately grow
  • Solve key business questions by identifying trends, designing tests and conducting deep dive analysis to optimize site template, partner relationship and deal
  • Support the evaluation of ongoing analytics and insights needs from stakeholders through automated and ad-hoc solutions

Qualifications

  • Experience in data modeling, data architecture, data quality, metadata, ETL and data warehouse methodologies and technologies
  • Advanced Knowledge of Excel and SQL
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity for existing data collection practices/processes and execute appropriate improvements
  • Expert user of digital analytics tools like Google Analytics or Adobe Suite
  • Demonstrated experience creating automated dashboards (Tableau an asset)

Nice To Have:

  • Understanding of Affiliate Marketing landscape
  • Basic understanding of SEO,SEM and paid arbitrage tactics
  • Knowledge of user and traffic acquisition, user pathing and behavior  
  • Any development experience in scripting languages to deliver complex BI reporting solutions (Python / R preferable)
  • A/B Testing and framework experience (Optimizely)
