Responsibilities

  • Test and review the latest hardware products.
  • Get ahead of trends and aggressively acquire products; you will develop and maintain a roadmap for our reviews coverage, so you need to know what's next.
  • Develop and evolve hardware testing methodologies.
  • Write clear, authoritative reviews, features, tips and advice pieces, product roundups, buying guides, news stories, and product review video scripts.
  • Edit, produce, and QA reviews and other content.
  • Manipulate images, build product galleries, verify and enter product specs, maintain spec database.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with PC vendors.
  • Represent PCMag at vendor meetings and industry events.
  • Be a PC technology thought leader in the industry.

Qualifications

  • This is an onsite position. You must be able to work in our New York City office.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Journalism or English concentration preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional writing/editing experience at an established website, magazine, or newspaper.
  • The ability to write quickly and clearly is an absolute must.
  • You must be a self-starter who can independently prioritize projects, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive, deadline-driven environment.
  • You should not only have a strong work ethic, but a strict attention to detail.
  • You should be interested in and have a solid knowledge of PC technology.
  • Relevant product review experience is a strong plus.
  • Previously established PC vendor relationships is a strong plus.
  • You should be familiar with online-publishing platforms and digital-image manipulation.
  • On-camera video experience is a plus.
