Overview

Everyday Health seeks an experienced, strategic email marketer to manage all facets of our newsletter business. The Manager of Email & Retention Marketing will be responsible for more than twenty newsletters, overseeing lifecycle management, audience segmentation, personalization strategies, content, responsive designs and overall performance, with the goal of growing audience retention and referral traffic. S/he will be well-versed in various CRM and digital marketing strategies with a proven track record of success delivering against organizational goals. The ideal candidate is equal parts left and right brain, bringing both creative copywriting and robust analytical skills to bear, and is comfortable working across teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Experience working with email service providers is a must.

The Manager of Email & Retention Marketing is an integral part of the Everyday Health team. S/he will have the opportunity to significantly impact the business and provide our users with an exceptional and engaging newsletter experience.

Responsibilities

About the Job

  • Build and constantly improve company’s email marketing/newsletter strategy, including testing, measurement and optimization of sequencing, frequency, content and templates to drive performance across campaigns and consumer segments
  • Working within our ESP, oversee daily email execution with a focus on list building, creative and copy set-up, deployment, and analysis and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to better leverage personalization tools through detailed trigger strategies and consumer lifecycle optimizations
  • Develop and execute robust win-back and registration tactics to retain and grow the email database
  • Partner with teams such as Production, Trafficking, Editorial and E-Commerce to ensure flawless and timely execution
  • Manage the overall email calendar
  • Ensure all designs and content are consistent with the Everyday Health tone and brand guidelines
  • Provide data-driven insights to Editorial and Product teams based on email performance
  • Continuously improve and document email-related processes
  • Stay informed of email marketing  and newsletter best practices across industries

Qualifications

About You

  • Experienced with 5+ years in email marketing campaign management, including segmenting audiences, scheduling campaigns, curating and writing copy, and analyzing performance on a daily basis
  • Smart, energetic, ambitious, and creative, with strong organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail
  • A team player who can also work independently and take ownership of this business-critical function, from strategy to execution
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment
  • Passionate about reaching and re-engaging a large health-interested audience
  • Experienced working within various email platforms
  • Comfortable setting up A/B testing, analyzing data and quickly implementing optimizations
  • Analytical and fluent in key email metrics, running detailed analyses and drawing actionable, data-driven insights
  • A strong communicator and experiences working with cross-functional teams
  • Experienced with e-commerce (a plus)
