Ziff Davis is looking for a highly motivated Strategy and Business Development manager to help support revenue enhancing partnerships and influence strategy development for the Tech and Commerce business unit. The role will be focused on developing growth strategies and new business development deals while also influencing company-wide decisions. This role will work closely with the Tech and Commerce business unit leadership, product teams and Ziff Davis corporate development and senior management. The goal for the role is to provide analytical support for decision making, due diligence on growth opportunities and partner manage key relationships. The role will be based in either New York or San Francisco and report to the Sr. Director, Strategy and Business Development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep understanding of Ziff Davis strategy and products across Tech and Commerce areas.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for operating and scaling our partner management activities.
  • Identify target partners in key verticals. Initiate contact with the right people at the partner and explore opportunities.
  • Establish partner performance criteria and drive partners to support Ziff Davis business.
  • Manage the partner relationship and serve as the main point of contact for any questions regarding Ziff Davis.
  • Manage the partners from the moment the agreement is made, through to launch, including liaising with our Product, Engineering, PR and Marketing teams.
  • Develop corporate development plan including gap analysis, potential acquisition targets and financial framework to execute.
  • Work with Data Science team to develop strategy and business development partnerships across all of Ziff Davis business units.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in a technically related field preferred; Pre-MBA
  • 2-3 years’ experience in consulting, strategy or investment banking.
  • Excellent analytical skills and comfortable in a metrics-driven world
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting term sheets and negotiating multi-faceted partnerships
  • Strong presentation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, including results packaging and development of management presentations required
  • Personal initiative with proven ability to execute with little supervision and adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools and large data sets required. Advanced Excel skills required. SQL/Tableau experience required.
  • Usage of a big data environment preferred.
