Ziff Davis is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Strategy and Business Development executive to drive and deliver revenue enhancing partnerships for the Tech and Commerce business unit. The role will be focused on developing growth strategies and new business development deals while also influencing company-wide decisions. This role will work closely with the Tech and Commerce business unit leadership, product teams and Ziff Davis corporate development and senior management. The goal for the role is to create new partnerships that are revenue enhancing and expansionary, develop the strategy for corporate acquisition and new product development. The role will be based in either New York or San Francisco and report to the SVP, Strategy and Growth.

Responsibilities

  • Team leadership: This is a leadership role that will involve management of a team that will be built out. The role will be a part of the Direct Leadership team on the staff of the Senior Vice President, Strategy and Growth.
  • Business Development: Source, define, negotiate, and execute strategic revenue generating opportunities. These activities will include but not limited to: data, research, market and competitive analysis, partner needs assessment and more importantly executing on these initiatives.
  • Business Unit Strategy: Identify long term market trends in consumer technology and create a framework for business development and product to prioritize products within these industry trends going forward.
  • Partnership Development: Identify, build, and manage long-term relationships with strategic partners in pursuit of revenue generating growth opportunities. Initiate and complete proposals, presentations, negotiations and legal agreements with identified partners.
  • Corporate Development: Work with Ziff Davis corporate development and senior management to source and review potential acquisition opportunities.

Qualifications

  • B.S. with engineering or computer science background, M.B.A. preferred
  • 8-10+ years work experience with at least 3-5 years of management consulting, corporate development or investment banking experience.
  • Experience in presenting new partnerships and strategies to C-level executives.
  • Strategic thinker who is comfortable in a fast-paced, always-on, highly ambiguous start-up environment.
  • Keen ability to translate complexity into simple and intuitive actions plans and communications.
  • Experience meeting multiple objectives in an entrepreneurial environment with little supervision.
  • Senior level negotiation experience (partnership, acquisition, or licenses)
  • Experience in the Ad Tech and Digital Ad Monetization industry / ecosystem and has engaged with entities such as Demand Side Platforms, Trading Desks, Data Providers, Exchanges and Sell Side Platforms, Broadcasters, Cable Networks, In-Stream/Video Networks, Data Providers and Mobile Networks/Carriers.
