Ziff Davis Tech & Commerce (ZDT&C) is looking for an experienced Business Development executive to help explore new solutions to grow our audience, revenue and feature set for our owned and operated brands.  Additionally this role will be tasked with transitioning our proprietary data and platforms into a meaningful business targeting publishers, vendors and any other 3rd party where we can add value. This role will reside within our newly formed Business Development team and be located in Ziff Davis’ NYC HQ.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture new revenue streams by syndicating our premium content and data to key strategic partners.
  • Effectively evaluate new business opportunities, analyze competitors, recommend strategies, and lead proposal/face-to-face negotiations to win new business.
  • Support corporate M&A initiatives and proactively prospect publishers and vendors that further the ZDT&C mission.
  • Explore NEW, large merchant relationships in an effort to diversify merchant portfolio
  • Support key strategic partnerships across ZD&TC functions as necessary.
  • Prospecting for vendors and web business that advance the TechMedia & Commerce mission. E.g. Video monetization, native ad products, etc.
  • Research and propose new category/vertical expansion for editorial coverage and revenue growth.
  • Assist with business, process and resource modeling to transition our internal Commerce suite to a 3rd party platform business.
  • Develop new revenue opportunities including Ad solutions, Data, Commerce, etc.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years media or business development experience in the digital content/distribution space, and deeply knowledgeable about digital technology and business models.
  • Proven track record of substantive deal negotiation with ability to lead complex negotiations with global technology and media companies.
  • Deep verifiable relationships at key partner companies worldwide. Solid network of existing relationships with business development, product and/or marketing contacts at key portal, media, or social network players
  • History of identifying, establishing or enhancing new lines of businesses in the digital space.
  • Track record of effectively negotiating and managing partnerships
  • Strong experience in both contract negotiation and optimizing partner management
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, plus the drive and initiative to overcome obstacles
  • Extensive working knowledge of digital media, affiliate and licensing businesses
  • Proven experience in collaborating and working
  • Must be able to travel
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
