Sales Intern

Purpose: To help support the emedia sales team's business development opportunities whereby the intern(s) will learn valuable sales skills and potentially serve as 'real-world/course-credit for their sales degree or minor concentrations while also providing a potential recruiting "bench" for entry level sales & sales support roles as we grow.


  • Appointment dialing and setting for sales reps (BDR work)
  • Developing & editing Clearslide powerpoint presentations, customize proposals/one sheets/templates for sales and help complete Client Success Reports for key accts and prospects
  • Report on prospect/client engagement levels from Clearslide insights and share out best practices
  • Help develop training and assessments for sales reps
  • Blueprint key accts and make cold calls to ascertain decision makers for new biz opportunities
  • Research and report on competitor intel, competitor buys and other key acct intel through LI Sales Navigator, focus groups, and test calls into competitors
  • Provide industry updates on trends, market share and patterns including our CPL historical by acct/product vs competitors to help shape our efforts
  • CRM support: help with opportunity reports, overdue tasks, other SFDC reporting
  • Prospecting: utilize LinkedIn, DiscoverOrg & other tools to prospect for new contacts and add to SFDC
  • Setting up Google alerts and industry list servs for key accts/prospects
  • Report on sales KPIs, utilize dashboard analytics to help view trends, develop benchmarks, etc.
  • Inbound lead qualification (MQL to SQL/SAL), analysis and tracking; working with marketing to establish best sources of leads
  • Write/suggest topics/articles for sales to post as LinkedIn, LI groups, and other social network updates to further encourage prospect/client view of emedia's thought leadership


  • Sales experience, particularly B2B, preferred but not required
  • Major coursework in sales, marketing or business
  • Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets) super user with proficiency in advanced excel including pivot tables, pivot table reporting Vlookup, advanced charting, conditional formatting, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and/or Google Slides
  • Familiarity with CRM software ( is strongly preferred) or database management tools and tracking
  • Strong phone skills and affinity for phone-based work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Basic business and financial acumen
  • Desire to work in and ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, sales-driven environment
  • Basic understanding of digital media and marketing with strong preference for demand generation, lead generation and/or content creation
