The Associate Producer of Gameplay at IGN creates and acquires gameplay videos in addition to contributing to other editorial projects. This role is specifically focused on expert gameplay, including covering and acquiring highly-ranked professional gameplay, speed runs, and highly-skilled casual players.

    What does that mean exactly?

    • Cultivate strong relationships with content creators in the competitive gaming, speed running and streaming community.
    • Acquire, create, and cover videos of players breaking games in interesting ways, accomplishing impressive feats, getting rare achievements, or exceptional performances in multiplayer matches.
    • Explain and demonstrate expert techniques gamers use clearly in video and written format.
    • Develop and extend IGN’s coverage of the most popular content types across multiple platforms -- IGN.com, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook, etc.
    • Present critical opinions in writing and on camera about games and other topics IGN covers.

What will get you in the door?

    • You have a portfolio of published videos and/or live streams.
    • You can lead both written and video content projects from start to finish as a ‘one person army,’ from the first draft of a script, through the edit and all the way to publish.
    • You are articulate and comfortable on camera and can speak extemporaneously as well as read from a script.
    • You have been recognized for your achievements in gaming, such as leaderboard rankings or speed run records.

It would be extra awesome if…

    • You have contacts in online communities for popular competitive PC and console games.
    • You have experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar video editing software
    • You are particularly good at a specific genre (or genres)  of game (FPS, speed-running, etc)
    • You can optimize your videos for search engines and understand search trends, analytics tools, and SEO principles.

    What we need from you.

    • A cover letter that explains why you are the best match for the Associate Producer of Gameplay role outlined above, including cool content pitches, industry contacts you could bring, and your areas of expertise.
    • Your resume. Wow us! Leave out the stuff irrelevant to this role and put in relevant work experience (YouTube and Twitch count), and personal projects including your channels, blogs, and creative works, and include your follower/subscriber counts (don’t worry - a large following isn’t a requirement for the role).
    • Links to the videos and writing you're proudest of. Submissions without samples will not be considered.

Here's the good stuff about us.

    • People who like to have fun, create amazing things, and discuss last night’s episode of Game of Thrones on Monday morning. Don’t fall behind.
    • Casual environment.
    • Come geek out with us, but be ready to work as hard as we do: IGN is our family, and our business.
